McGuire Returns Home and Shatters School Javelin Record at Ken Foreman Invitational; Nava Wins 1500 at Orange and Purple Classic

Seattle, Wash./Clemson, S.C. -- Sean McGuire (Tacoma, Wash./Henry Foss HS), back in his home state, placed second in the javelin at the Ken Foreman Invitational hosted by the University of Washington. With a throw of 186'03.00", he shattered the school record previously held by Adam Faulkner (181'07.00).

At the Orange and Purple Classic, hosted by Clemson University, Goran Nava (Castello Brianza, Italy) took home top honors in the 1500 with a time of 3:49.89, improving on his own school record time.

Amy Gediman (Midlothian, Va./James River) also competing at Clemson, finished eighth in the 800 meter with a time of 2:20.75.

McGuire, in the javelin, and Nava, in the 800 and 1500, will be competing at the NCAA Regionals, May 30-31 at George Mason University.
