Highlanders Defeats Aggies, 157-98
RADFORD, Va. - Radford Swimming and Diving defeat North Carolina A&T with a score of 157-98 at the Dedmon Center Natatorium on Friday afternoon.

The Highlanders had a strong performance against the Aggies as they placed nine victories including one relay team. The Aggies had five first place finishes including one relay team.

RU's Julie Brooks garnered three first place finishes in the 200 yard butterfly (2:12.28), 200 yard backstroke (2:12.05), and the 100 yard butterfly (1:00.37).

The Aggies victories came by way of Gia Wright who placed in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:10.78), 100 yard free (58.52), and the 200 yard breaststroke (2:36.48). The Aggies other victory came from Andrea Perry in the 200 yard IM with a time of 2:33.02.

For the Highs freshman Amy Wharen captured a victory in the 1000 free in a time of 11:09.71, while teammate Carlye Greene came in second with a time of 11:45.62. Aggies' Tiffany Mack swam a time of 14:09.79 to take third in the event.

Picking up first place in the 200 yard free was RU's Kristen Deckert who swam a time of 2:02.28. Other first place finishes include Jenny Biles in the 100 yard backstroke (1:05.15), Stacie Bliss in the 50 yard free (26.20) and Amy Sutton in the 500 yard free (6:09.58).

The Highlanders placed first in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:57.02, and the Aggies placed first in the 200 yard free relay with a time of 1:50.63.

The Highlanders will be back in action on Saturday Oct. 30 as they host the Campbell Camels at 1 p.m. in the Dedmon Center Natatorium.
