Highlanders Fall At Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. -- Radford was unable to overcome a 16-point halftime deficit, falling at Colorado 74-58 Thursday night at the Coors Event Center. (Box Score)

The Buffs converted 12 RU turnovers into 18 points to take a 37-21 lead at the intermission. Radford bounced back and scored 37 points to tie Colorado in second-half scoring.

The Highlanders (5-4) were paced by sophomore Chris Oliver, who scored 15 points. Junior Chris Goodin tallied 11 points and junior Andre Bynum scored a season-high 10 points. Oliver also grabbed eight boards to lead RU. Freshman Branden Smith, who was injured early in the season, scored the first points of his Highlander career. He finished with four points and led RU with four assists.

Freshman Richard Roby led the Buffs with 18 points. He was joined in double figures by Chris Copeland and Marcus Hall, who had 16 and 13 respectively. Roby also had six boards to pace CU.

Radford was playing without the services of senior Brandon Jeffers and junior Whit Holcomb-Faye, who were suspended for the game for lack of leadership and behavior detrimental to the team.
